1. Indonesia Leads Global Hopefulness with 90% Confidence

Indonesia remains the most optimistic country heading into 2026, with an astonishing 90% of its citizens expecting a better year ahead than 2025. This positivity likely stems from Indonesia’s impressive economic growth, steady political stability, and ongoing national infrastructure projects that are expected to boost income levels and overall quality of life.

2. South America Shows Strong Belief in Better Horizons

Countries like Colombia (89%), Chile (86%), and Peru (86%) are among the most hopeful nations, reflecting a regional confidence that 2026 will bring improved living standards and economic recovery. Bolstered by recent political stability and investment in social programs, these nations are optimistic after a challenging 2025.

3. Asian Nations Express High Optimism Despite Global Challenges

India (85%), Thailand (86%), and Malaysia (82%) showcase noteworthy confidence. Despite ongoing global economic uncertainties, these countries are banking on their burgeoning industries and digital economies to propel them into a brighter future. South Korea (65%) and Singapore (67%) also maintain positive outlooks, although to a slightly lesser degree.

The United States and Canada express cautious optimism, with 66% and 70% of people believing 2026 will be better, respectively. Factors such as the recent stabilization of political landscapes, economic growth, and technological advancements are fueling hopes for a more prosperous year.

Western Europe exhibits more conservative expectations: the UK at 58%, Germany at 57%, and Italy also at 57%. Spain (69%) and Sweden (68%) surpass their neighbors, possibly due to recent stability and recovery efforts post-pandemic. Meanwhile, Belgium (49%) and France (41%) are more sceptical, reflecting lingering economic and social concerns.

Australia (66%) and South Korea (65%) align with North American trends, demonstrating cautious hopefulness. Turkey (63%) and Ireland (63%) are more optimistic, possibly influenced by recent political reforms and economic improvements in their regions.

Brazil (80%) and Argentina (83%) continue their upward positivity trend, driven by recent economic reforms and a renewed international interest in regional markets. South Africa (82%) also sees high confidence, likely fueled by efforts to combat unemployment and attract foreign investment.

Across 30 nations, the average positive outlook for 2026 is at 71%, marking a significant increase from previous years. This suggests that people worldwide are optimistic about recovery and growth following the tumultuous events of 2025.
