If you’re looking to upgrade your current PC to Windows 11 but you’re concerned about your hardware compatibility, you’re in luck! There’s a straightforward way to get Windows 11 24H2 running on a system that doesn’t meet the usual requirements. Here’s a simple guide to help you through the process.

First off, it’s important to know that you won’t be able to make hardware updates that allow your PC to support Windows 11. However, if you’re satisfied with how your PC performs and feel ready to upgrade, you can proceed with an in-place upgrade.

For those interested, I suggest checking out this video tutorial that outlines the easiest method to install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware. Based on my experiences, this method has proven to be the most effective over the last three years. You can find the video here: How to Install Windows 11 on Unsupported PC in 2025 (New Easiest Method, No CMD).

Once you’re ready to install, download the Windows 11 24H2 ISO file. This file is essential for the upgrade, and you can get it from the official Microsoft website here: Download Windows 11.

To handle the ISO file easily, you’ll want a file utility. I recommend downloading 7-Zip, which is free to use. Just pick the option for 64-bit systems from this link: 7-Zip.

Keep in mind that if Microsoft releases new builds of Windows 11 in the future—typically every October—you will have to repeat this upgrade process yourself. Unfortunately, PCs that don’t meet the minimum hardware standards won’t receive automatic updates, but you can still count on getting monthly cumulative and security updates for your OS.

Though it might seem like a hassle to manually update every so often, it’s a minor inconvenience that allows you to continue receiving support for Windows beyond October 2025.

Lastly, if something goes wrong with your new Windows 11 setup, don’t worry! You have ten days to revert back to Windows 10 as long as you don’t delete the upgrade files or the Windows.old folder. Need a guide on how to do this? Check out this helpful video: How to Go Back to Windows 10 from Windows 11 (Tutorial).

By following these steps, you’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of Windows 11 without needing to worry about hardware limitations. Happy upgrading!
