If you’ve set up trusted access in your main AWS account to receive notifications about AWS health events from your member accounts, you might notice that you’re getting multiple notifications—both for each individual account and an overall summary. This can sometimes be confusing, especially if you’re overwhelmed with alerts.
Here’s how to understand and fix this so you’re only receiving the notifications you need:
First, check your notification settings in each member account. Make sure you’ve turned off the email notifications for individual accounts if you only want to see the consolidated alert. In each member account, go to the AWS Personal Health Dashboard, then manage notification preferences. Disable email alerts from individual account notifications so you won’t get duplicate messages.
Next, in your management account, review your notification subscriptions. If you’re subscribed to both individual account notifications and the aggregated ones, you’ll get both types. To reduce the overload, decide whether you want only the big picture alert or the detailed ones. If you prefer only the summary, unsubscribe from the individual account notifications.
Additionally, make sure that trusted access is set correctly to prevent any overlap. Sometimes, AWS automatically sends both types of alerts if all notification options are turned on. Adjusting these settings will help you stop getting duplicate notifications.
By turning off the individual account notifications and keeping only the aggregated alerts, you’ll receive clearer, less overwhelming updates about AWS health events. This way, you’ll stay informed without being flooded with the same information multiple times.
