If you’re looking to upgrade your laptop’s memory, you might be wondering how much RAM your notebook can actually support. Here’s a simple guide to help you find out, along with a few important tips for your upgrade process.

First, it’s essential to know the maximum memory your laptop can handle. According to the service manual, your notebook supports a maximum of 32 GB (which is 2 x 16 GB modules). However, you should be aware that if you choose to install DDR5-5600 MHz memory, it will operate at 4800 MHz. This is because that speed is the maximum that your laptop’s processor supports.

To check if your computer can handle a total of 64 GB of memory, follow these easy steps:

  1. Search for “cmd” in the search box on your computer.
  2. Right-click on the “Command Prompt” application and select “Run as administrator.” This will open the command prompt window.
  3. In the command prompt, type the command: wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit Enter.

After entering this command, you’ll see the maximum RAM capacity displayed in kilobytes. To find out how much that is in gigabytes, divide the number shown by 1,048,576. This will give you the RAM capacity your motherboard can support.

Remember to double-check the specifications of the RAM you plan to purchase. Make sure it’s compatible with your laptop to avoid any issues. With the right information and components, upgrading your RAM can boost your laptop’s performance significantly. Happy upgrading!
