If you’re doing a fresh installation of Windows 11 and running into issues where your system isn’t recognizing the hard drive, don’t worry! Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you get your system up and running.

First of all, you’ll need to prepare specific drivers for your storage controller. Follow these instructions, and you’ll be able to overcome that pesky drive detection problem.

Start by downloading the zipped driver files that are linked below. Once you have the files, follow these steps:

  1. Unzip the Driver Files: Locate the downloaded zip file on your computer, right-click on it, and select “Extract All.” This will create a new folder with all the necessary driver files.

  2. Copy to USB Drive: Take a USB flash drive and copy all the files from the unzipped folder onto it. This flash drive will be used during the installation process.

  3. Prepare Your Installation Media: Make sure you have your Windows installation media ready and plugged into a USB port on your computer, along with the USB flash drive containing the drivers.

  4. Boot from Installation Media: Restart your computer and boot from the Windows installation flash drive. You might need to adjust the boot order in your BIOS settings if your computer doesn’t boot from the USB automatically.

  5. Load Drivers When Prompted: As you go through the installation process, you may reach a screen where it says that no drives can be found. This is where you’ll need to take action. Click on the “Load driver” option.

  6. Browse to Your Drivers: When prompted, navigate to your USB flash drive that contains the storage controller drivers.

  7. Select the Driver: There will be an option to check a box to include only compatible drivers. If you do this and Windows still can’t find the drive, uncheck the box to see other driver options.

  8. Continue Installation: Once you’ve selected the appropriate driver from the list, click “Next.” If everything goes smoothly, Windows will begin installing without further issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve any problems related to your hard drive not being detected during the Windows 11 installation. Good luck, and enjoy your newly set up system!
