If you’re wondering whether Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 can run on Windows Server 2019, here’s what you need to know. Microsoft Azure fully supports installing Dynamics NAV 2016 on a Windows Server 2019 virtual machine. In fact, Microsoft has officially confirmed that Windows Server 2019 is compatible with Dynamics NAV versions starting from 2013 onwards.
You can find more details in the official Microsoft blog that discusses Windows Server 2019 and its support for Dynamics NAV. Additionally, the official documentation states that Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and later versions are supported on Windows Server 2019.
Since Azure supports Windows Server 2019 as an operating system for its virtual machines, deploying NAV 2016 on Azure with Server 2019 is a valid option. This setup allows you to take advantage of the cloud while maintaining your existing NAV 2016 system.
However, it’s important to be aware that Microsoft ended mainstream support for NAV 2016 on April 13, 2021. While critical security updates are still provided until April 14, 2026, no new features or general bug fixes will be released. After April 2026, support will officially end.
For more detailed information, check out the Microsoft pages on NAV 2016 support dates and system requirements. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
