If you’re having trouble seeing buttons or elements on a website, especially on GitHub, there’s a quick way to fix this by disabling any browser extensions that might be blocking content. Sometimes, ad blockers or privacy extensions can accidentally hide or interfere with certain features, making things look broken.
Here’s what you can do:
First, identify which browser you use (Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.) and find your extensions or add-ons menu. For Chrome, it’s usually by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner, then selecting “More tools” and then “Extensions.” For Firefox, click the three lines in the upper right and select “Extensions and Themes.”
Next, disable extensions one at a time, especially any ad blockers or privacy protectors. To do this, simply toggle the switch off.
Once you’ve turned off your extensions, refresh the page. If the buttons or options appear now, you’ve found the culprit. To keep things working smoothly, try turning your extensions back on one by one, refreshing each time, until you discover which one was blocking the content.
The best way to avoid these issues in the future is to whitelist the website you’re visiting — in this case, GitHub — within your extension settings. This way, your extensions will let the site load all its features properly.
If this still doesn’t resolve the problem, consider clearing your browser cache or updating your browser. Sometimes, outdated browsers or cached data can cause display issues.
Following these steps should help restore the full functionality of the site and ensure that all buttons and features are visible and working as expected.
