If you’re working with Content Understanding and find that it doesn’t support certain file formats like Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel (.xlsx), Rich Text Format (.rtf), or email formats (.eml/.msg), you’re not alone. Although the official documentation suggests these formats are supported, some users notice they don’t work on the AI Foundry platform.
The best way to solve this issue is to convert your files into more compatible formats such as PDF or JPEG. These formats are widely accepted and will work smoothly with Content Understanding without any problems.
To do this, open your original document using its respective application (like Microsoft Word for a .docx file or Excel for a .xlsx file), and then use the “Save As” feature to save it as a PDF or take a screenshot and save it as a JPEG image. Once you have converted your files to these formats, upload them again, and you’ll be able to process them easily.
Feel free to follow these steps to make sure your files are ready for use, and you won’t encounter any issues with Content Understanding. If you have more questions or need further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. Thanks for using the Microsoft QNA portal!
