Perplexity ranks among the most popular AI chatbots available today. Recently, Mozilla integrated this AI directly into its Firefox browser. To access it, click the downward arrow next to the search icon in the address bar, then choose “Perplexity.”
Next, input your prompt into the address bar—essentially telling the AI what task you want it to perform. If you frequently use Perplexity, you’ll benefit from its seamless integration within Firefox.
Perplexity has become a default search engine in Firefox. If you don’t wish to use this AI, you can simply remove it from your browser’s settings.

For those who find such add-ons unnecessary or intrusive, you also have the option to disable or remove Perplexity from Firefox. To do this, click the three horizontal lines in the top right corner of the browser to open the menu.
Select “Settings,” then navigate to the “Search” section on the left. Scroll down to the “Search engine keywords” table. Here, uncheck the box next to “Perplexity,” which will remove the chatbot from your list of search options. You can re-enable it later by repeating the same steps.
To completely delete Perplexity, select its entry in the list and click “Remove.” If you decide to add it back later, simply click “Restore default search engines.”
