Select Language:
Are you trying to set your Mac language to English while your iPhone is in Danish, and still want to have Apple Intelligence features active on both devices? Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t currently allow you to have different Apple Intelligence languages on separate devices. The language for Apple Intelligence is shared across all your Apple devices, tied to your Apple ID, so it defaults to the same setting everywhere.
But don’t worry! There are a couple of workarounds you can try to make this setup work better for you:
Option 1: Change Apple Intelligence Language Temporarily
If you primarily want Apple Intelligence to be in Danish on your iPhone, you can temporarily change the language setting for Siri and related features to Danish on your iPhone. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Siri & Search, then tap Language and select Danish. When you’re done using these features in Danish, switch it back to English. Keep in mind, this change only affects Siri and Apple Intelligence on that device, not across all of your Apple devices.
Option 2: Use Different Language Settings for System and Siri
While you can’t set different Apple Intelligence languages across devices permanently, you can set your device language for system functions separately. For example, on your Mac, set the system language to English. On your iPhone, set the system language to Danish. The key point is that Siri and Apple Intelligence will follow the device’s language as per your settings, but the way the features behave might be somewhat limited, and full language independence isn’t possible.
Final Tips:
- Remember, changing Siri’s language is quick and easy, so you can switch between Danish and English as needed.
- Be aware that some features might work better in the device’s main language, and switching languages back and forth can sometimes cause minor glitches or delays.
- Keep your devices updated; Apple often improves language support and Siri features with updates.
While it would be great to have complete independence of Apple Intelligence languages on different devices, for now, you’ll need to work within these limits. Hopefully, in the future, Apple will allow more flexibility!
