If you’ve recently updated your iPhone and noticed that Siri isn’t speaking responses as it used to, you’re not alone. Apple sometimes makes changes that can be confusing, especially with updates that alter how Siri responds. Here’s a simple way to fix the issue and get Siri back to speaking answers—even when you’re not looking at the screen.

First, check your Siri response settings. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, scroll down to “Siri & Search,” and tap on it. Look for the options labeled “Siri Responses.” You might see options like “Automatic,” “When Silent Mode is Off,” and “Always Speak.” To ensure Siri speaks responses out loud regardless of whether you’re looking at the screen, select “Always Speak.”

Next, test Siri by asking a question like, “What’s the air quality today?” If everything is set up correctly, Siri should now answer verbally out loud even if your screen is off or you’re not viewing the device.

Sometimes, after software updates, these settings can reset or change without your notice. If adjusting these options doesn’t work, try restarting your iPhone. Simply hold down the side button and either volume button until the slider appears, then slide to power off. Turn it back on and test Siri again.

This quick fix usually resolves the issue. If it doesn’t, you may want to check for any new software updates or contact Apple Support for further assistance. Remember, keeping your device’s software up to date can help prevent similar issues from popping up again.
