Around a decade ago, I ditched my traditional wallet for a folio phone case that resembles a book, complete with slots for cards and a protective wrap for my Moto G.
Since then, despite reviewing numerous phones and frequently switching my personal device, I’ve stuck with phone cases that serve as my wallet. Unfortunately, this often meant sifting through a limited selection of folio cases specific to each new phone.
However, last year I discovered the ESR Grip Wallet Stand, and it completely transformed my experience. This innovative 3-in-1 accessory enhances my phone’s functionality while decluttering my pockets.

First and foremost, it serves as a grip. It attaches magnetically to my phone—much more securely than I anticipated—and features a finger loop for comfortable handling over long periods. Think of it as a sleeker alternative to a PopSocket, since it lays nearly flat when not in use and carries a more sophisticated aesthetic than the traditional PopSocket design.
Additionally, it functions as a wallet, accommodating multiple cards. The front can hold two cards with a handy cutout for easy access. Inside, there’s space for my ID and health insurance card, along with my Costco card and some cash. One pocket even has a transparent section ideal for quickly showing my ID without rummaging through it—or, in my case, presenting my Costco card. The pockets include cutouts that make it easy to retrieve cards, and I find they stay secure while still being simple to extract.

Lastly, it includes a kickstand feature. Thanks to a robust hinge, when the wallet is opened, it doubles as a stand. This allows me to position my phone in both portrait and landscape orientations—ideal for keeping an eye on notifications or enjoying videos.
This accessory is also compatible with MagSafe, meaning it seamlessly works for modern iPhone users while also being suitable for Android devices with MagSafe cases. Setting it up is a breeze: I can simply attach the ESR product to the back of my phone and easily transfer it to a new device without reconfiguring my entire wallet setup.

While I do occasionally miss my folio cases—they provided better protection during accidental drops—I’m not turning back. The ESR Grip Wallet Stand addresses many of my concerns about folio cases.
If I just want to take my phone somewhere like the gym without any cards or cash, I can easily remove the wallet section and leave the rest behind. It’s also quick to detach when I need my phone for a car mount or for taking photos. The convenience of removing the accessory with a simple motion is a game changer and allows me to easily stash it in my pocket when not in use.
All this practicality in an accessory priced at a mere $28 felt like a no-brainer when I encountered it, and I love how easily it transfers from one phone to another. I wholeheartedly recommend it!
