You’re very welcome.
When looking at pictures of motherboards, keep in mind that the way the motherboard appears might not match how it’s actually installed in the computer. The orientation can be different, so don’t rely solely on the picture.
To find the correct motherboard for your model, you can check the parts list for that specific series. This list provides various part numbers along with descriptions. Simply search through these numbers to find the motherboard that matches your needs.
You can ignore the product numbers ending in ‘R’ because those are refurbished versions of the same model. The original, new models don’t have the ‘R’ at the end.
A good resource for finding genuine parts is the HP PartSurfer website. Just enter your product model number (for example, 17-cn0000) to see available parts, their descriptions, and compatibility details. Here’s the link: HP PartSurfer.
There are some important details to keep in mind about the motherboards:
- UMA means the motherboard only has onboard Intel graphics, no external GPU.
- The suffix ‘-001’ indicates that the motherboard does not have a Windows product key embedded in the BIOS.
- The suffix ‘-601’ means the motherboard includes a Windows product key stored in the BIOS. Typically, the description will also include ‘WIN’ to show it has this feature.
That covers all the key information needed. If you follow these tips, you should be able to find the right motherboard for your computer.
