If you’re updating your root user email address in AWS, it can take about 5 minutes for the verification code to arrive in your new email inbox. Sometimes, the email may land in your spam or junk folder instead of your main inbox, so it’s a good idea to check there if you don’t see it after a few minutes.
If the verification email hasn’t show up after waiting, here are some steps to try:
First, make sure you entered the new email address correctly during the update. A small typo can delay or prevent the email from arriving.
Next, check your email provider’s filtering or blocking rules. Some providers may block or filter certain types of emails, including those from AWS, so reviewing your email settings can help.
Also, confirm that your new email address is set up to receive emails from AWS services. Sometimes, email restrictions or firewalls can prevent the verification email from getting through.
If you’ve gone through these steps and still haven’t received the code, try restarting the email update process. If that doesn’t help, reaching out to AWS Support can provide additional help to get the verification code and complete your update.
