If you’ve received a message saying that your HP PC Diagnostics (UEFI) is outdated, don’t worry—they’re easy to update. You’re currently using version 10.3.2.0, but the update needs to happen outside of Windows, during your computer’s startup.
Since the diagnostics tool only works when your computer is booting up, you won’t be able to update it through Windows itself. Instead, you’ll need to download the latest version from the HP support website and then create a bootable USB drive with the updated diagnostics.
First, visit the official HP support site and search for your specific PC model. Look for the latest version of HP PC Diagnostics (UEFI). Once you find it, download the file to your computer.
Next, you’ll need to create a bootable USB drive with this file. HP usually provides instructions on how to do this. Usually, it involves using a tool like Rufus or HP’s own utility to make a bootable USB by copying the downloaded file onto it.
After creating the bootable USB, insert it into your HP computer. Restart your PC and enter the boot menu—this is typically done by pressing a key like F9 or Esc during startup. Select your USB drive from the list of boot options.
Your computer will boot from the USB, and you should see the new diagnostics tool. Follow the on-screen instructions to run and complete the update. Once finished, your diagnostics will be up to date and ready to use whenever you need them.
Updating this way ensures you have the latest tools to check your system’s health and keep everything running smoothly.
