Hello everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this.
I want to share a problem I encountered and seek some help. I was trying to use the HPSupportSolutionsFramework-13.0.1.131.exe file to get support for my HP laptop. However, when I run the tool, it keeps stopping with Error 3. I’m not sure what to do next.
My main goal is to install Linux on my HP Pavilion Notebook 17-f285nf. The laptop has a very old BIOS version, Insyde F.34, dated December 19, 2014. Because of this outdated BIOS, I can’t easily switch to Linux, and I want to update the BIOS to a newer version that will support Linux better.
The problem is, I don’t know which BIOS versions are the best to safely install on this machine. I want to update to a BIOS version that allows me to set up UEFI properly, so I can install Linux smoothly. The laptop is declared obsolete by Windows, so I can’t get support from HP easily.
Can anyone recommend the latest BIOS version for this model? I want clear, step-by-step advice on how to safely update my BIOS and prepare my laptop for Linux installation. Thanks in advance for your help!
