Are you tired of your embarrassing Memoji popping up every time someone new saves your contact information? You’re not alone! Many people have encountered the same issue, especially when they use their phones for both personal and business calls. Fortunately, there are a few simple steps you can take to completely remove your Memoji or Animoji from your iPhone and iCloud. Here’s a guide to help you eliminate them once and for all.

Step 1: Delete the Memoji

First things first, you’ll want to delete the Memoji from your Messages app. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on the App Store icon next to the text field.
  3. Select the Memoji sticker icon.
  4. Scroll through your Memojis until you find the one you want to delete.
  5. Tap and hold the Memoji, then choose Delete from the options that appear.

This will remove the Memoji from your Messages app, but it may still be linked to your contact profile.

Step 2: Remove from Your Contact Card

Next, let’s make sure it’s not attached to your contact card. Here’s how to do this:

  1. Go to the Contacts app (or Phone app and then tap on Contacts).
  2. Find and select your contact card (usually at the top of the contact list).
  3. Tap on Edit in the upper-right corner.
  4. Scroll to the section where your profile picture is displayed.
  5. Tap on the image icon and select Edit Photo.
  6. Choose Remove Photo to delete any Memoji or Animoji associated with your contact.

Step 3: Adjust iCloud Settings

Now, let’s ensure that iCloud isn’t syncing your Memojis:

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on your name at the top to access your Apple ID settings.
  3. Select iCloud and scroll down to find Photos.
  4. Make sure that Shared Albums and Photos are turned off if you don’t want any emojis or new images sharing.

Step 4: Turn Off Memoji in FaceTime (If Applicable)

Sometimes, Memojis may appear in apps like FaceTime. To make sure they don’t show up there:

  1. Open FaceTime and tap on your profile.
  2. Look for any Memoji settings and remove any that you don’t want.

Step 5: Restart Your Phone

After you’ve completed these steps, it’s a good idea to restart your phone. This helps clear out any temporary glitches and ensures that your changes are fully updated.

Final Thoughts

By following these steps, you should be able to eliminate that embarrassing Memoji once and for all. Remember, it’s not just about deleting it—making sure it’s not linked to your contact card or iCloud is key. Now you can confidently share your contact information without worrying about that awkward Memoji making a surprise appearance! Enjoy your phone calls, both personal and business, without any cringe-worthy interruptions!
