If you’re trying to copy code or text from a website but find that the copy button isn’t working or unresponsive, here’s a simple way to fix it. Sometimes, the problem is due to the website’s design or a glitch in the site’s functionality. Luckily, you can use your browser’s built-in tools to copy the text directly.
First, highlight the text or code you want to copy. You can do this by clicking and dragging your mouse over the text until it’s all selected. Once highlighted, right-click on the selection and choose “Copy” from the menu. If right-clicking isn’t working, you can also press “Ctrl + C” on your keyboard (or “Cmd + C” if you’re using a Mac).
If highlighting and copying with your mouse isn’t working, try this alternative method: click at the start of the text, hold down the shift key, and click at the end of the text to select everything in between. Then press “Ctrl + C” to copy.
This method works well whether the website has a malfunctioning copy button or if you prefer to copy manually. It’s a quick fix to get your text ready to paste into a document, email, or any other application.
