How to Play Fortnite on Your iPhone

Fortnite was once among the top games for iPhone users, offering seamless gameplay and cross-platform play with friends on consoles and PCs. However, due to a significant legal battle between Apple and Epic Games in 2020, the game was removed from iOS devices. Fast forward to 2025, and while many developments have occurred, it’s still challenging to ascertain when Fortnite will be available once more on iPhones. After thoroughly examining court documents and statements, we will clarify the current ways to access Fortnite on your iPhone or iPad.

How to Play Fortnite via the App Store

Before 2020, gamers could simply download Fortnite from the App Store and start playing. However, following the Epic versus Apple lawsuit, this option vanished for almost five years.

As of April 30, a new court ruling has made waves regarding app store regulations. Key points from this ruling indicate that Apple cannot collect fees on purchases made outside of apps or prevent developers from including payment links outside the app. This lawsuit stemmed from Epic’s refusal to share 30% of its revenue with Apple and attempting to implement external payment methods.

Thanks to this ruling, Epic Games’ CEO has announced on social media that Fortnite will likely return to the US App Store between May 4 and 10. He mentioned that if Apple globalizes this new fee-free structure, Fortnite will return to the App Store globally, with ongoing lawsuits being dropped.

  2. Step 2: Log into your free or premium Nvidia account.

  3. Step 3: Click "Play" to start your gaming session.
