If you’ve been charged for AWS Skill Builder but haven’t used the service, here’s what you can do to fix the problem and possibly get a refund.
First, check if you still have an active subscription. Even if you’re not using it, your account could still be billed until you cancel it. To do this, log into your AWS Skill Builder account. Then, go to your account settings, find the subscriptions or purchases section, and look for your active subscriptions. If you see AWS Skill Builder there, you’ll want to cancel it to stop future charges.
To cancel your subscription, go to your account page, select your subscriptions, and choose the cancel option. Confirm your cancellation to prevent further billing.
If you want to try to get a refund for any charges that have already appeared, you’ll need to contact AWS Support. You can do this by opening a support case through the AWS Support Center. Select the “Account and Billing” category and explain that you haven’t used the service and believe you were charged in error. Be sure to include when the charges happened.
Remember, if you cancel within 72 hours of signing up, you usually won’t be billed. If you cancel later, the account is billed only for the part of the month you’ve used.
Support will review your case to determine if a refund is possible. While refunds aren’t guaranteed, AWS is often willing to help in cases where users didn’t intend to keep the service active or made a mistake.
