Sometimes, when using a PC, the text appears faint or blurry, causing unnecessary eye strain. To prevent this, I adjust the text settings for better clarity. Adjusting text on Windows is straightforward using a built-in tool called CTTUNE (ClearType Text Tuner), which employs a technology known as ClearType to enhance screen text sharpness.
ClearType utilizes subpixel rendering to smooth font edges, resulting in crisper, less pixelated text on your display.
Steps to Improve Text Clarity:
- Type CTTUNE into Windows Search and press Enter.
- The ClearType Text Tuner will open. If ClearType isn’t activated, enable it by checking the box. Then, click Next.
- The tool will verify that your display is set to its native resolution. Confirm or adjust as needed.
- Follow the prompts to select the text samples that appear clearest to you across a few screens. Continue clicking Next until the calibration process completes.
