If you’re struggling with how to effectively delete old emails in Gmail to free up space, here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you manage your inbox efficiently.

First, open your Gmail account. Once you’re in, look for the search bar at the top of the page. To find the old emails you want to delete, type in “older_than:6m” if you want to delete emails older than 6 months, or adjust the time frame as needed. For example, you can replace “6m” with “1y” for emails older than a year.

After typing your preferred query, press Enter or click the search button. Gmail will now display all emails that match your criteria. To select all these emails, click the small checkbox at the top left of the inbox. If you want to delete just specific emails, click on each email to select them individually.

Once you’ve selected the emails you want to delete, look for the trash can icon at the top of your inbox and click it. This will move all selected emails to the Trash. Remember, emails in the Trash will be permanently deleted after 30 days, but you can empty the Trash manually to free up space immediately.

To do this, go to the Trash folder (find it in the list of folders on the left side), open it, and click on “Empty Trash now” at the top. Confirm the action, and all emails in Trash will be permanently deleted, freeing up storage space.

By using this method, you can clean out old emails efficiently without having to delete them one by one. Regularly cleaning your inbox will help you stay organized and ensure you don’t run out of space.
