If you’re trying to install Windows on a new notebook with an Intel 11th or newer generation processor, you might run into a problem where Windows can’t detect any drives. This happens because the system needs a specific Intel storage driver loaded during the installation process. Here’s a simple way to fix that:
First, you’ll need to get the correct driver. I’ve prepared the necessary Intel storage controller drivers for you—just download the file attached below. After downloading, unzip the file and copy all the extracted files onto a USB flash drive.
Keep your USB flash drive and your Windows installation media ready. Connect both to your computer and start the system using the Windows installation drive.
When you reach the screen that says no drives are found, look for the option to “Load driver.” Click on it, then browse to your USB flash drive where you saved the drivers. Select the appropriate driver—if you see an option to only show compatible drivers and you’re still having trouble, try unchecking that box to see all available drivers and select the one that works.
This should allow Windows to recognize your storage drives, and you can continue with the installation smoothly. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out for more tips.
