If you’re having trouble getting Siri to respond on your iPhone, you’re not alone. Some users notice that when they try to activate Siri, it either says “hmmm” or the screen shows rainbow-colored edges without any reply. This can be frustrating, but there are some simple steps you can take to fix the problem and get Siri to answer again.

First, make sure your device software is up to date. Sometimes, software glitches affect Siri’s performance, and updating your iPhone can resolve these issues. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.

Next, try restarting your iPhone. This can refresh the system and fix temporary bugs. To restart, press and hold the side button and either volume button until the slider appears, then slide to power off. Turn your phone back on after a few seconds.

If Siri still isn’t responding properly, check your internet connection. Siri needs an active internet connection to work. Make sure Wi-Fi is connected or your mobile data is turned on and working smoothly.

You can also reset Siri settings. Go to Settings > Siri & Search, then turn off “Listen for ‘Hey Siri'” and “Press Side Button for Siri.” Wait a few seconds, then turn these options back on.

Finally, if none of these solutions work, consider resetting your device’s settings. This won’t delete your apps or data, but it will reset your preferences. To do this, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

By following these steps, you should be able to fix the problem and get Siri to respond like usual. If the issue persists, it might be best to contact Apple Support for further assistance.
