If you’re experiencing an issue where saying “Hey Siri” causes the Siri bubble to appear on your CarPlay screen but no voice responds, you’re not alone. This problem can be frustrating, especially when you rely on hands-free commands while driving. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and fix this issue.

First, even though you’ve already tried swapping out your iPhone and cable, double-check that your iPhone’s microphone isn’t blocked or dirty. Clean the microphone area on your iPhone to ensure it’s not obstructed, as this can interfere with voice recognition.

Next, verify that Siri is properly enabled on your iPhone. Go to Settings > Siri & Search, and make sure Listen for “Hey Siri” is turned on, along with Allow Siri When Locked. Also, check that your language and voice settings are correct. Sometimes, a simple toggle off and on of these settings can resolve minor glitches.

Ensure your iPhone is running the latest iOS update. Since this feature was working earlier but stopped after an update, updating your device to the newest version may include important bug fixes that restore this functionality.

Additionally, restart both your iPhone and your vehicle’s infotainment system. Turn off your car, turn off your iPhone, then turn both back on. This can refresh the connection and resolve temporary glitches.

If the problem persists, try resetting your CarPlay settings. On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > CarPlay, select your vehicle, then tap Forget This Car. Reconnect your iPhone to your vehicle and set up CarPlay again.

As a temporary solution, using the steering wheel Siri button works, but it’s not entirely hands-free. For a fully hands-free experience, ensure that your voice feedback settings are set to “Always Speak Responses” in Settings > Siri & Search > Voice Feedback.

By following these steps, you should be able to restore Siri’s voice commands in your CarPlay system. If the issue continues, consider reaching out to your vehicle’s manufacturer or visiting an Apple Store for further assistance.
