If you have multiple Apple TVs in your home, you might be used to controlling them easily with just your voice. Normally, you can say things like, “Hey Siri, turn on the Living Room TV,” or “Hey Siri, mute the Main Bedroom TV,” and it works hands-free. But, if you’ve recently updated to iOS 26, you might notice that Siri no longer responds the same way.
Instead of turning on the TV with your voice, Siri now asks, “Which TV…,” and shows you a list of all the Apple TVs in your house. When you reply with the room or the TV’s name, it keeps asking again, “Which TV…,” and displays the list again. You can tap on the TV on the screen to control it, but Siri no longer understands or responds to voice commands like before.
This issue affects iPhone 14 and 15 Pro Max devices running iOS 26, with all your Apple TVs on TVOS 18.7.
If you’re facing this problem, you’re not alone, and many others are looking for solutions. One workaround is to manually select the TV from the list on your device instead of relying on voice commands.
As of now, there isn’t a clear fix from Apple, but trying to reset your devices, checking for updates, or resetting your Siri settings might help. Hopefully, a future update will restore the full hands-free control. Stay tuned to Apple’s support pages or community forums for any new solutions.
