Having trouble with your voice command not getting a response? If Siri isn’t listening or isn’t responding to your commands, don’t worry—there are simple steps you can take to fix this issue.
First, check if your device is connected to the internet. Siri needs an active internet connection to work properly. Make sure your Wi-Fi or cellular data is turned on and working.
Next, ensure that Siri is enabled on your device. Go to your Settings, then tap on Siri & Search. Make sure that Listen for “Hey Siri” and Press Home for Siri (or Side Button for Siri on newer models) are toggled on.
Sometimes, restarting your device can solve temporary glitches. Turn off your device completely, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
If Siri still isn’t responding, check the microphone. Tap on your camera or voice memo app and record a short message to see if your microphone is working properly. If your voice isn’t recorded clearly, or there’s no sound, the microphone might be blocked or damaged.
Another useful step is to reset Siri. Go back to Settings > Siri & Search and turn off Siri. Wait a moment, then turn it back on. You might need to set up Siri again by following the prompts.
Finally, make sure your device’s software is up to date. An outdated system can cause issues with voice recognition. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.
Following these steps usually fixes common problems with Siri not responding. If none of these work, you might want to contact Apple Support for more help.
