If you’re using an iPhone Air and want to start a Strava workout with just your voice, you might run into some challenges. Many users have tried setting up Siri to automatically start a Strava activity, but it doesn’t work as smoothly as hoped.
Here’s what I’ve discovered: when you ask Siri to begin an activity, it may say that it’s starting, but you still need to open the Strava app and start it manually. Setting up shortcuts for this purpose also doesn’t seem to work, meaning you can’t fully automate the process of starting a workout with just your voice.
However, there’s a small workaround. When you tell Siri to start an activity, the gear turns on, and Strava begins tracking in the background. It just doesn’t automatically show the activity on your screen until you open the app yourself. So, while the workout is technically running, you won’t see it displayed until you open Strava.
This isn’t a perfect solution, but it’s a step forward. Keep an eye out for future updates or app tweaks that might make full voice control possible. Until then, your best bet is to ask Siri to start the workout, then open Strava to see your activity ready to go.
