If you’re having trouble with Siri on your iPhone shutting down when you ask what song is playing, you’re not alone. This can be frustrating, especially when you’re trying to quickly identify a song. Here are some simple steps you can take to fix this common problem:

First, make sure your iPhone has a good internet connection. Siri relies on internet to work properly, so check that Wi-Fi or cellular data is active and working. Restart your phone to refresh the system — sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches.

Next, check your Siri settings. Go to Settings > Siri & Search, and make sure that Listen for “Hey Siri” and Press Home or Side Button for Siri are turned on. Also, ensure that your language and region are set correctly.

It’s also helpful to test if your microphone is working properly. Open the Voice Memos app and record a quick message. Play it back to see if the sound is clear. If you notice any issues, clean your microphone openings gently with a soft brush or cloth.

Another step is to update your iPhone to the latest iOS version. Apple releases updates that fix bugs and improve features, including Siri’s performance. To do this, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

If Siri still cuts out when you ask to identify a song, try disabling and re-enabling it. Turn off Siri in Settings > Siri & Search, then restart your phone. After that, turn Siri back on and set it up again.

Finally, if none of these steps work, consider resetting your settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won’t delete your data but will reset system settings like Wi-Fi passwords and preferences.

By following these simple troubleshooting steps, you should see an improvement in how Siri responds, especially when trying to identify songs. If problems continue, reaching out to Apple Support might be your best option, as there could be a deeper issue with your device.
