If you’re finding that Siri only responds through your earpiece and not through the speakers, don’t worry—there are some simple steps you can take to fix this issue. It can be frustrating when Siri won’t talk back through the phone’s speakers, especially when you rely on her to find your phone or answer questions.
First, check your main volume settings. Make sure the volume isn’t turned down or muted. Sometimes, the volume for ringtones and alerts can be separate from media volume, so ensure both are turned up.
Next, look at your device’s audio output. Sometimes, audio settings get stuck on certain modes. Restart your phone to reset any temporary glitches that might be causing this problem.
If that doesn’t help, check your Bluetooth settings. Even if you don’t see any devices connected, go to your Bluetooth menu and turn off Bluetooth completely to make sure your phone isn’t still trying to send audio somewhere else.
Also, check Siri’s voice feedback settings. Go to Settings > Siri & Search, and then tap on “Voice Feedback.” Make sure it’s set to “Always On” or “Control with Ring Switch” depending on your preference. If it’s set to “Hands-Free Only,” Siri will only respond through the earpiece when using certain features.
Lastly, update your device’s software. Sometimes, bugs are fixed with the latest updates, so head to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.
If you’ve tried all these steps and Siri still isn’t speaking through the speakers, you might need to contact Apple Support for further help. But hopefully, one of these quick fixes will get Siri chatting back through your speakers again. Good luck!
