Have you ever asked Siri about the weather, only to find that it results in your workout plans getting unexpectedly changed? I recently experienced this myself. I was out for a walk in the snow and asked Siri if it was snowing and how long it might last. Without warning, Siri canceled my walk and started a snow sports workout instead, all without giving me any notification or asking for my approval.
This situation is frustrating. If Siri can misunderstand a simple weather question as a command to change your activity, then why does it automatically switch workouts without asking or confirming? It feels like the system should give users more control and clarity.
The real problem is that once Siri makes a change, there’s no simple way to undo or cancel it. If Siri switches your activity unexpectedly, you should be able to cancel that change easily, just like you can cancel a phone call or a music playlist. But currently, your only option is to accept whatever change Siri makes, which can ruin your entire workout or plans.
It can also be very difficult to fix or edit workout sessions after Siri has changed them. If a workout gets messed up, there’s often no straightforward way to fix it without starting all over, which is frustrating.
To improve your experience, it’s a good idea to double-check what Siri is doing before walking away. If Siri starts a workout on its own, look for the option to cancel or stop the activity right away. And in case Siri changes things without your knowledge, try to manually control or edit your workout afterward to correct any issues.
Making Siri’s actions more transparent and giving users an easy way to cancel or change tasks would make the experience smoother and less stressful, especially during your workouts.
