If you have an iPhone 17 Pro and the latest software update, but Siri isn’t speaking out loud like it’s supposed to, here’s a simple way to fix the issue.
First, make sure that Siri’s voice feedback is turned on. To do this, go to your Settings app, then tap on ‘Siri & Search.’ Find the ‘Voice Feedback’ option and ensure it is set to ‘Always’ so Siri will speak out loud, no matter if your ringer is on or off.
Next, check your Siri response settings. In the same menu, tap on ‘Siri Responses’ and select ‘Always.’ This setting makes sure Siri provides spoken responses every time you ask.
Sometimes, the problem is related to your volume settings. Double-check that your volume is turned up and that ‘Change with Buttons’ is enabled. You can find these in Settings > Sounds & Haptics.
If these steps don’t work, restart your iPhone. Sometimes a simple restart can fix glitches. To do this, press and hold the side button and volume up button together until the power-off slider appears. Slide to turn off, then turn your phone back on.
Finally, make sure your software is fully updated, as system updates can resolve bugs related to Siri. To check, go to Settings > General > Software Update, and install any available updates.
By following these steps, you should get Siri to give verbal responses again, rather than just showing written replies.
