If you’re using a Z210 Workstation with Windows 11 64-bit and notice a missing driver for your PCI Serial Port, don’t worry—there’s a simple way to fix this. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you find and install the correct driver for your device.

First, open your Device Manager. You can do this by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting “Device Manager.” Look for the device labeled “PCI Serial Port,” which should have a yellow warning sign indicating the missing driver.

Next, to identify the exact hardware, right-click on the “PCI Serial Port” device and choose “Properties.” Then, click on the “Details” tab and select “Hardware Ids” from the dropdown menu. You should see a string similar to the following:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3D&SUBSYS_1587103C&REV_04

Now, use this hardware ID to find the correct driver. The vendor ID (VEN_8086) indicates Intel, and the device ID (DEV_1C3D) points to a specific PCI device. To find the driver, go to the official Intel website or your motherboard/computer manufacturer’s support page.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Visit Intel’s official driver download page at https://downloadcenter.intel.com.
  2. Use the search box to enter the device ID or your hardware details.
  3. Identify the latest driver compatible with Windows 11 64-bit.
  4. Download and run the installer, then follow the on-screen instructions.

Alternatively, if you’re unsure about manually searching for drivers, Windows can sometimes detect and install the correct driver automatically:

  • Right-click on the “PCI Serial Port” in Device Manager.
  • Select “Update Driver.”
  • Choose “Search automatically for drivers.”

If Windows finds a suitable driver, it will install it for you. If not, using the Intel driver support page as described above is your best bet.

Once the driver is installed, restart your computer. Open Device Manager again to confirm that the yellow warning icon is gone and the device functions properly.

Following these steps should help you resolve the missing driver issue on your Z210 Workstation running Windows 11.
