If you’re like me, you’ve probably noticed that Apple’s Calendar sometimes uses a different date format than your device’s default. Specifically, instead of following your preferred month.day.year layout, it might show dates as day.month.year or in another way, which can be confusing.
Here’s a simple way to fix this and make sure Apple Calendar aligns with your preferred date format.
First, check your device’s regional settings. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, then tap on General, and select Language & Region. Here, look at the ‘Region’ option. By selecting the correct region, your device will automatically set date formats to match that region’s conventions.
Next, restart your device to ensure the new settings take effect. Once it’s back on, try asking Siri to set a new event again. It should now use the date format matching your regional setting.
If you’re still seeing a different format, double-check your calendar’s language settings. Sometimes, individual apps may have their own language options. Open the Calendar app, go to its settings, and see if there’s an option to change language or date preferences.
By adjusting these settings, you should see your device and Calendar app using a consistent date format that matches your usual preferences. This will make scheduling events much easier and help avoid any confusion caused by different date notations.
