If you’re having trouble getting Siri to work on your iPhone 11, you’re not alone. Just a few weeks ago, I could activate Siri easily by holding the side button or simply saying “Hey Siri.” But suddenly, it stopped responding to my voice commands. If this sounds familiar, don’t worry—there are some simple steps you can follow to fix this issue and get Siri back to work.
First, check your Siri Settings. Go to your iPhone’s Settings, then tap on Siri & Search. Make sure that Listen for “Hey Siri” and Press Side Button for Siri are turned on. Sometimes, these settings get turned off by accident.
Next, try restarting your iPhone. Sometimes, a quick restart can solve minor glitches. Hold the side button and either volume button until the power off slider appears. Slide to turn off, then press the side button again to turn your phone back on.
If Siri still isn’t responding, let’s check the microphone settings. Siri needs access to your microphone, so go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. Make sure Siri & Dictation has permission.
Another thing to try is disabling and re-enabling Siri. Turn off Siri in Settings > Siri & Search, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. When prompted, follow the instructions to set up “Hey Siri” again.
Also, ensure your iPhone has the latest software update. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in updates. Go to Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, download and install it.
Finally, if none of these steps work, it might be a problem with your microphone or hardware. Try recording a voice memo or using the Voice Memos app to see if your microphone is working properly. If audio doesn’t record clearly, consider taking your phone to an Apple Store for a check-up.
Following these steps should help you get Siri responding normally again. Remember, a quick restart and a check of your settings can often solve these little glitches.
