If you’re having trouble turning on your HP ProDesk 400 G6 Desktop Mini PC at work and there’s no tech support available, don’t worry—you can try some simple steps to get it working again.
First, check that all the power cords are plugged in securely. Sometimes, a loose connection can prevent the computer from turning on properly. If everything looks connected properly, try unplugging the power cable from the back of the computer. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in. This can help reset the hardware.
Next, press and hold the power button for 15 to 30 seconds while the computer is unplugged. This will drain any residual power and may reset the system. After holding the button, plug the power cable back in, and then press the power button to see if the computer turns on normally.
If the blinking light continues, it could be indicating a specific issue. A blinking light often means there’s a hardware problem or a power issue. In that case, try to carefully check the power outlet with another device to ensure it’s working. You might also want to try a different power cable if you have one available.
If none of these steps work, sometimes reseating the RAM modules can help. To do that, you’ll need to turn off the computer (if it powers on), unplug it, open the case carefully, and remove the RAM sticks. Then, gently put them back in their slots, making sure they’re securely seated. After closing the case, reconnect everything and try turning the computer on again.
If the problem persists, it might be a hardware fault that requires professional repair, but these initial steps can often resolve common issues when tech support isn’t immediately available.
