If you’ve noticed that Siri only reads notifications and doesn’t read news updates from AOL or other notifications anymore, don’t worry. This is a common issue that can be fixed with a few simple steps. Here’s how you can get Siri back to reading your news updates and notifications just as you want.
First, check your notification settings. Go to Settings on your iPhone, then tap on Notifications. Make sure that notifications for AOL News or any other apps you want Siri to read are turned on. Also, ensure that the alerts are set to show banners or alerts, so Siri can access them.
Next, look at your Siri & Search settings. Open Settings, then tap on Siri & Search. Here, make sure that Listen for “Hey Siri” and Press Side Button for Siri are enabled. Sometimes, if these are turned off, Siri won’t be able to read notifications properly.
Now, review your Voice Feedback settings. Still under Siri & Search, find Voice Feedback. Select ‘Always On’ so that Siri will speak out loud whenever it reads notifications or news updates. If it’s set to ‘Control with Ring Switch’, Siri might not speak at all when your phone’s silent.
Finally, make sure your news and notification apps are updated to the latest version. Sometimes, app updates fix bugs that could be causing the problem.
Once you’ve checked and adjusted these settings, ask Siri to read your notifications or news again. It should now read AOL news and other notifications just as expected. If it still doesn’t work, restarting your phone can sometimes resolve minor glitches.
By following these simple steps, you can restore Siri’s ability to read your news updates and notifications smoothly.
