If you want to figure out how much each of your remote desktop servers costs per month in AWS, there are several straightforward ways to do this.

First, you can use the AWS Pricing Calculator. This free tool helps you create a detailed estimate tailored to your specific server needs. To get accurate results, you’ll need to know your server’s specifications, such as the operating system, memory size, input/output needs, storage, and how long you plan to use the server each month. By inputting these details, the calculator can suggest the most cost-effective options for your workload and budget.

Since you already have seven active servers, it’s a good idea to check your current costs through the AWS Billing and Cost Management dashboard. This will give you an exact look at your actual spending. From there, you can break down the costs for each server to see how much you’re spending monthly. This real data allows you to better estimate what future servers might cost.

Another helpful tool is the Cost Optimization Hub, also accessible through the Billing and Cost Management console. It analyzes your current costs and can help identify opportunities to save money. You can view your cost data in charts or tables, and you can filter the information by account, region, or resource type to get a clear picture of where your money is going.

Using your existing server data from the Billing dashboard is usually the best way to get an accurate estimate. It allows you to understand your current expenses and use that as a basis for calculating future costs for additional servers.

If you’d like more detailed guidance, you can refer to AWS’s official documentation on estimating savings, cost calculators, and hourly cost analysis. These resources offer step-by-step instructions on how to use each tool effectively and make smarter decisions about your server costs.
