If you’re tired of seeing the suggested contacts pop up every time you start dialing a number on your iPhone, you’re not alone. Many users find this feature distracting, especially if they prefer a simpler experience without Siri or AI suggestions. The good news is, you can turn off these contact suggestions with a few quick steps.
First, open the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap on Contacts. In the Contacts settings, look for Siri & Search and select it. Here, you will see options related to Siri suggestions. To stop contact suggestions from showing when you start dialing, turn off Show Siri Suggestions or Suggestions in Search depending on your iOS version.
If you want to make sure no suggested contacts appear when you’re typing in the Phone app, you can also disable suggestions directly within the Phone app settings. Open the Phone app, tap on the three dots or More (if available), then go to Settings. Look for an option related to suggestions or contacts and disable it.
In some newer iOS versions, like iOS 18 and 26, these options might be slightly different or located under Privacy > Siri & Search. Just navigate to that section and disable any settings that mention contact suggestions.
By following these steps, you should be able to enjoy a cleaner, less distracting dialing experience without those annoying suggested contacts popping up.
