If you’ve ever opened a new message in Apple Mail and noticed a popup box with AI suggestions popping up, you know how frustrating it can be. For instance, if you type “Dear XXX,” and press Enter to move to a new line, the popup might ignore your command and keep suggesting text on the same line. This distraction can really slow down your work and make composing emails less smooth.
The only way I’ve found to stop this is to turn off Apple Intelligence completely. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way to turn off just this specific feature within Mail. Disabling Apple Intelligence affects other parts of your system, so it’s a broad solution.
Right now, there’s no simple toggle just for this AI popup in Mail. So, if this feature is bothering you, the best bet is to go into your system preferences and disable Apple Intelligence entirely. Keep in mind that doing so will turn off other helpful features, but it’s the only way to prevent these unsolicited suggestions from appearing.
If anyone has a different method or a more targeted fix, I’d love to hear about it. Sometimes, software updates or community tips can reveal new solutions. Until then, turning off Apple Intelligence seems to be the only way to get this annoyance under control.
