If you’re using Container Apps under the Consumption plan, you can’t guarantee a fixed outbound IP address. This means the IP address your app uses to send traffic out can change every time it runs or restarts.
To have a consistent, static outbound IP, you’ll need to switch to the Dedicated plan. Once you’re on that plan, you should set up Virtual Network (VNet) Integration and use an Azure NAT Gateway. This setup will give your app a reliable, unchanging outbound IP address.
It’s important to note that this limitation isn’t specific to a certain region like Australia East. Instead, it’s a feature of the Consumption plan itself.
If moving to the Dedicated plan or configuring a NAT Gateway isn’t an option for you, a good alternative is to set up a proxy virtual machine (VM). This VM should have a static IP address, and you can route your application’s traffic through it. This way, your outbound IP address remains consistent, giving you the stability you need.
