If you’re using Azure Storage accounts, it’s important to prepare for the upcoming change regarding TLS protocols. Starting February 3, 2026, support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 will be officially discontinued for all Azure Storage accounts, both new and existing.

Here’s what you need to know to stay ahead of this transition:

First, from November 1, 2025, any new Azure Storage accounts you create will only support TLS 1.2 and higher. That means TLS 1.0 and 1.1 won’t be available for these new accounts starting on that date. If you create an account after November 1, 2025, it will immediately require TLS 1.2 or newer.

Support for existing accounts will continue until February 3, 2026. During this period, connections using TLS 1.0 or 1.1 will still work, but after that date, all connections will be rejected if they don’t meet the new security standards. From February 3, 2026, all Azure Blob Storage endpoints will enforce TLS 1.2 as the minimum version.

To avoid any disruptions, you should update your client applications and services to support TLS 1.2 or higher before the enforcement date. Microsoft recommends reviewing their guide on how to migrate to TLS 1.2 for Azure Storage, which provides detailed steps to ensure your connections remain secure and functional.

If you’re unsure or need help with this process, don’t hesitate to ask for assistance. Doing this upgrade in advance will keep your storage access smooth and secure.

Once you’ve followed these steps, remember to mark the guidance as helpful or accepted if it helped answer your question—this can really help others in the community who might face the same issue.
