If you’re looking to add more storage to your HP Victus 16-s0000 gaming laptop, here’s what you need to know. This laptop only has one M.2 slot for an SSD, so if you want extra space, you’ll need to replace the existing 512 GB NVMe SSD with a larger one.
The issue is that the information in the service manual can be confusing. The manual’s first chapter says your laptop supports one M.2 SSD. But then, in chapter 5, on page 41, there’s an illustration that shows two NVMe M.2 slots on the motherboard.
However, based on a detailed teardown video by HP, it’s clear that there is only one M.2 slot accessible in this model. The video shows that the slot on the left side isn’t there, contrary to what the manual suggests.
To see this for yourself, watch the video on how to remove and replace parts on the Victus 16. It gives a close-up look at the inside of the laptop and shows how to remove the system fans, which is part of the process. This tip is very helpful if you’re comfortable doing repairs yourself.
So, to upgrade your storage, you’ll want to buy a compatible, larger NVMe SSD and replace the existing one. Just remove the current SSD carefully following the steps in the video, and install the new, bigger drive in the same slot. This way, you’ll have more space for all your games and files without any confusion about the motherboard’s slot configuration.
