If you find that Siri keeps opening the “News Nation” app whenever you ask it to play a song by the Kinks, you’re not alone. This can be frustrating because it seems like Siri is misunderstanding your request. Luckily, there’s a simple way to fix this issue so that Siri plays the music you want without opening the wrong app.
First, check what app Siri is using to play your music. Sometimes, Siri might default to a news app or another service if it doesn’t recognize the song or artist properly. To fix this, try specifying exactly where you want the music to come from. Instead of saying, “Play the Kinks,” try saying, “Play the Kinks on Apple Music” or “Play the Kinks on Spotify.”
If that doesn’t work, you can also clean up your Siri settings. Go into your iPhone’s Settings, then tap on Siri & Search. Look for the app “News Nation” and disable it from being suggested or used by Siri for music requests. This helps prevent Siri from accidentally opening the app when you’re asking for music.
Another helpful step is to update your apps and your phone’s software. Sometimes, bugs or glitches can cause Siri to act strangely. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS installed, and check for app updates for your music streaming apps.
If Siri continues to open News Nation or other apps instead of playing music, you might need to reset your Siri settings. You can do this by turning Siri off, restarting your phone, and then turning Siri back on.
By being specific with your commands and adjusting your Siri settings, you can prevent Siri from opening the wrong app and ensure it plays your music the way you want.
