If you’re seeing the error message “ThrottlingException: Too many tokens per day, please wait before trying again,” it usually means you’ve hit your daily token limit with Amazon Bedrock. This isn’t about billing or credits; it’s about the service’s usage limits.
Many users face this problem because their account’s quota for Bedrock has been set to zero, which stops them from using the service even though they have enough credits and proper access. To fix this, follow these easy steps:
First, make sure you’ve requested access to the specific models you plan to use. You can do this inside the Bedrock console by going to the “Model access” section and requesting the models you need.
Second, check if you’re using a supported region. Bedrock mainly supports US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon). If you’re in a different region, switch to one of these supported areas.
Third, confirm that your IAM user or role has the right permissions. You should have permissions like AmazonBedrockFullAccess to use the service properly.
If you’ve done all these and still can’t access your quota, you’ll need to contact AWS Support. You can reach them through the AWS Support console, especially under the “Account and billing” section. They can look into your account, review your quotas, and make adjustments if necessary.
Since this issue is tied to account-specific limits, only AWS Support can help change your quotas or resolve the problem.
