If you’re experiencing an “ACPI BIOS” error with your HP AMD notebook, you’re not alone. Many users with models that have AMD processors and chipsets have faced this issue. Unfortunately, updating or recovering the BIOS alone doesn’t fix this problem.
Here’s a simple step-by-step solution that can help you get your laptop back up and running:
First, restart your computer and enter the BIOS setup. Usually, you can do this by pressing a specific key during startup, like F10 or F2—check your device’s manual if you’re unsure. Once inside the BIOS menu, navigate to the security settings. Look for an option related to TPM, which is the Trusted Platform Module.
Once you find the TPM setting, select it and choose to hide or disable the TPM device. After making this change, save your settings and exit the BIOS. Your computer should now restart, and in most cases, this will resolve the “ACPI BIOS” error, allowing your PC to operate normally again.
It’s important to note that the last BIOS update HP released for the 15-ab1xx series notebooks with AMD processors was version F.54. If your device has a different BIOS version, this workaround should still help, but always proceed with caution when changing BIOS settings.
This simple adjustment in the BIOS security menu can be a quick fix to recover your system without needing complicated updates or rollback procedures.
