If you’re having trouble creating a budget in AWS Billing and Cost Management, particularly when it comes to setting alert thresholds, you’re not alone. Many users notice that when selecting the percentage option for their threshold, the display incorrectly shows “USD” instead of “%.” Don’t worry—this is just a display issue and doesn’t affect how your budget functions.

When you choose a percentage as your threshold, the system is supposed to show a “%” sign, but sometimes it only shows “USD.” Despite this visual glitch, the system still recognizes the number you entered as a percentage and will work correctly. For example, if you set a threshold of 90%, your budget will trigger alerts based on 90% utilization, regardless of what the display shows.

If you’re experiencing this problem, try refreshing your browser or switching to a different one to see if that clears up the display. If the issue remains, it’s a good idea to report it to AWS Support, as it’s likely a visual bug in the UI.

Remember, this display error doesn’t impact your budget’s accuracy or functionality. Keep an eye on your alert triggers, and they should work just as expected.
