If you’ve recently set up a new AWS account and find yourself unable to access services like Amazon Textract and AWS App Runner, you’re not alone. Many new users face this issue, especially when the account setup process isn’t fully completed behind the scenes, even after initial registration.
First, make sure your account registration has truly been finalized. You should have received a confirmation email that indicates your registration was successful. Double-check your email inbox, including spam folders, to confirm this. Also, verify that your AWS account shows as active and complete, and that you have the necessary permissions, such as AdminAccess.
Next, review your account’s billing information. Since you mentioned billing details were provided during sign-up, confirm that there are no issues or holds related to your billing that might hinder service access. Sometimes, incomplete or flagged billing info can prevent certain features from being enabled.
If everything appears in order but you still encounter the “Complete your account setup” message when trying to open specific services, the issue might be related to the account’s Service Quotas or pending verification steps. To resolve this:
1. Log into the AWS Management Console.
2. Navigate to the Support Center or Service Quotas dashboard.
3. Check for any pending notifications or verification requests.
4. If you see unresolved issues, follow the prompts or consider opening a new support ticket directly through the Support Center, explaining your situation.
Given that your support ticket is over 72 hours old with no response, it might help to escalate the issue. You can do this by calling AWS support if available in your region or submitting a new ticket emphasizing the urgency, especially since your project is time-sensitive.
In some cases, activation of certain services in new accounts requires additional verification or approval from AWS, especially if your account is on the free tier. Confirm your account status and verify that there are no restrictions.
Finally, if you’re still unable to access these services after these steps, consider reaching out to AWS support via phone or chat to expedite resolution. Explain that your account is fully registered, and you’ve provided billing details, but access issues persist, which is impacting your project timeline.
Following these steps should help you unlock the services you need and get your application up and running smoothly.
