Here’s a helpful guide on some useful Siri commands that can make your iPhone or iPad easier to use. Keep in mind, this isn’t a list of every command Siri understands, but rather some of the more unique ones that you might not hear about often.
If you need to restart your device, just say, “Restart,” and Siri will do it for you. To turn off your device completely, say, “Power off.” It’s simple and quick.
Want to check your battery level? Just ask Siri, “Battery,” and it will tell you your current battery status. You can also toggle Low Power Mode on or off by asking Siri, “Low power mode.”
When you’re on a call, you can ask Siri to answer for you. For example, say, “Answer call,” when your phone rings, or “Answer on speaker” if you want the call on loudspeaker.
Opening apps is just as easy. Say, “Open Calculator,” and Siri will launch it. To switch between apps, tell Siri, “Switch to Mail,” or whatever app you need.
Want to generate a QR code? Simply say, “Create QR Code,” and follow the prompts Siri provides.
If you need to know a contact’s age, ask, “How old is [contact name]?” Siri can give you a lot of useful information about your contacts.
For sports fans, Siri can help with schedules, standings, scores, and team info—especially during the NFL season. For example:
- Ask, “NFL schedule,” to see the league’s full schedule.
- Say, “NFC schedule,” or “AFC schedule,” for the conference details.
- To check a team’s schedule, ask, “Eagles schedule,” or replace “Eagles” with any other team.
- To see current standings, ask, “NFL standings,” or specify the division, like “NFC East standings.”
- For scores, say, “NFL scores,” or “Chiefs score” to get recent game results.
- Want to know the coach? Ask, “Who is the head coach of the Patriots?” Replace “Patriots” with any team or role.
Note: Many of these sports commands work only during the active season, so their availability varies.
If you want to change how long Siri waits after you stop talking before it responds, here’s what to do:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap on Accessibility.
- Select Siri.
- Under “Siri Pause Time,” choose the length of pause that suits you best.
Remember, these tips have been tested with Siri powered by Apple’s technology, so your experience might be a little different. Give these commands a try to make your device more efficient and fun to use!
