Have you noticed that Siri now reads out addresses differently? Instead of saying "One, two, three, four, five Street," it now says "One, twenty-three, forty-fifth Street." This can be quite frustrating, especially when you’re trying to navigate while driving! If you’d like to change it back to the old way, here’s a simple guide to help you fix this issue.
Step 1: Check Siri’s Voice Settings
First, make sure that Siri’s voice settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, changing the voice or language settings can help with how Siri reads addresses.
- Go to Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap on Siri & Search.
- Select Siri Voice and try changing the accent or gender options. Sometimes, a different voice will read things differently.
Step 2: Restart Siri
If changing the voice doesn’t help, try to restart Siri.
- Go to Settings > Siri & Search.
- Toggle off Listen for “Hey Siri” and Press Side Button for Siri.
- Wait a few moments, and then toggle them back on. This can refresh Siri’s settings.
Step 3: Update iOS
Sometimes, issues with Siri can arise from outdated software. Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS.
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- If an update is available, download and install it. Often, updates fix bugs and enhance features.
Step 4: Reset Siri Settings
If the problem persists, you can reset Siri’s settings.
- Navigate to Settings > Siri & Search.
- Tap on Turn Off Siri. Confirm your choice.
- Wait a minute and then enable Siri again.
Step 5: Provide Feedback
If all else fails, consider providing feedback to Apple about your experience. While this won’t fix the issue for you right away, it’s a great way to let them know users prefer the old format.
- Go to the Apple website and find the feedback section. Share your thoughts about Siri’s address reading style.
By following these steps, you can hopefully restore Siri to a voice that works for you, making your driving experience smoother without any mental math! Safe travels!
